Details Register Today to Participate 3-DAY PLAY is a fun, friendly, interactive event where teams create and perform original short plays for prizes (in front of an enthusiastic audience)! TO SEE THE SHOW: Buy tickets for the May 5th 8PM Dress Rehearsal ($10.00) and/or the May 6th 3 PM Opening Day Performance ($20.00) at www.studiogplymouth.com/events TO PARTICIPATE: Sign up as a team or as an individual participant at: www.studiogplymouth.com/events REGISTRATION FEES: $150 per team (up to 10 participants) $40 per individual (and you'll be assigned to a team) ON FRIDAY, MAY 4 (7:00 PM): Individual and team participants meet at Studio G to break the ice with some theater game warm-ups, after which individual participants are assigned into pick-up teams (or drafted by pre-existing teams). Next, each team is randomly assigned a genre and a title they'll use as the basis for their 3-Day Play -- then teams create the plot, characters, and dialogue for their show and cast it with their team members! 3-DAY PLAY: GENRES 1. Musical Comedy 2. Murder Mystery 3. Family Drama 4. Children's Theater 5. Experimental 6. Shakespearean Tragedy 7. Rock Opera 8. Mime/Kabuki/Ballet 9. Farce 10. Wild Card NOTE: Each 3-Day Play must be performed in 10 minutes or less, including set-up. One second over 10 minutes and it's LIGHTS OUT for your team (meaning we'll literally turn off the lights on the performance, although the play will still be eligible for prizes if the judges liked what they saw)! SATURDAY, MAY 5: Teams rehearse their shows (at Studio G or another space of their choosing), find whatever props, costumes, music, etc. are needed for their productions, receive notes and suggestions from a roaming Team Advisor (within Studio G only), and perform a DRESS REHEARSAL in front of other teams and an early-bird audience that night. SUNDAY, MAY 6: Teams tweak their shows with last minute rehearsals in the morning -- then, ready-or-not, it's OPENING NIGHT as the 3-Day Plays are performed for the judges, a live audience, and a streaming digital audience on Facebook! ELIGIBILITY: Must be 18 years or older to participate. Team sign-ups are on a first-come basis. Twelve team slots are available (including two "pick-up" teams for individual participants), after which participants/teams will be added to a wait list. THE JUDGES: Stay tuned for updates on our judges!
